Industrial: North East Fire Control Centre

The North East Fire Control Centre is the new regional operational facility for the North East Fire and Rescue Service. It was the first of only eight national control centres and the flagship for other centres that followed. The building is located on a 1.35 hectare plot at the end of the main access road into Belmont Business Park, Durham. It is designed to be fully self sufficient with multiple backup provisions for all major systems within the building. In 2007, the project was recognised with the Journal’s Landmark Award for an Office Development.
